From Wellness Rituals to Weekend Adventures

What I Did and Saw

If you were planning to attend the air show this past weekend, you'll know it didn't happen due to the fog not clearing up. This year, we decided to switch things up. Instead of taking the yacht out, we purchased VIP lawn seating tickets at the Pasea Hotel on PCH and Beach, right next to Pacific City. The tickets were $250 per person and included two drink vouchers and a complimentary meal. Although the prix fixe menu was a bit pricey, the food was delicious, though the portions were on the smaller side. The drinks, however, were fantastic! The show ended at 5 p.m., and afterward, we explored the hotel’s restaurants and bar. Pasea is a lively, chic, and modern hotel that maintains a relaxed ocean beach vibe.

How Yoga Transformed My Muay Thai Training and Wellness Routine

When it comes to wellness, I believe in incorporating daily physical activity as part of my routine. For me, it's about balance and finding what works for my body and mind. My daily wellness practices often involve some form of physical workout. Depending on the intensity, I like to pair my workouts with yoga. If I’m preparing for something intense, like a Muay Thai session, I’ll do yoga beforehand to warm up and center myself. If I’m lifting weights, I’ll save yoga for afterward to stretch and recover.

Over the last 10 years, I've trained extensively in Muay Thai, but it wasn't until the last 4 years—when I began incorporating yoga—that I truly felt my technique evolve. Yoga has built a strong foundation in my Muay Thai training by improving my core strength and balance. Now, when someone attempts a side kick or sweep, I find myself more stable and less likely to go down. I credit yoga for giving me the control and balance I need in these moments.

Yoga isn't just about flexibility—it's about enhancing body awareness. The physical and mental discipline it fosters has had a profound impact on how I train and recover. My core is stronger, my posture is better, and my overall balance during sparring has significantly improved.

In addition to Muay Thai, cardio is an essential part of my lifestyle. Whether it's running, cycling, or just going for a brisk walk, cardio keeps me energized and in shape. I firmly believe that even if someone isn’t into intense physical workouts, simply incorporating cardio into their routine can extend their lifespan, improve oxygen flow, and lead to a healthier lifestyle overall.

Wellness isn’t just about the workouts you do—it's about finding balance, building strength from the inside out, and creating a routine that keeps you grounded, both mentally and physically.
